On June 25, Western Sydney Wanderers officially announced that Alen Stajcic will take over as the team’s head coach.
Stajcic previously signed a three-year contract with Perth Glory in 2023, but left after less than a year. Stajcic, a Western Sydney native, revealed his intentions to make the Wanderers a strong team during his time with the club.
Stajcic said: “It’s a special feeling to come back home and represent the area where you were born and raised. I’m proud of this area and want the club to be a source of pride for the people of Western Sydney. Our members and fans have been some of the most loyal, passionate and knowledgeable in the country, so I’m honored to have the opportunity to coach this great football club.”
Speaking about his goals for next season, Stajcic said: “My hopes are high and my ambitions are even higher as we look to bring success together for the Wanderers.”
