June 28, the A-League website reported that Western United striker Neil Wales, 26, will leave the club to play in a foreign league.
Reports say that Wales played for Western United for four seasons, and under John Aloisi, he not only helped the team win their first A-League title but also left a lasting legacy at the club with the second most appearances (107) and 14 goals.
Leaving Western United, Wales said, “I just want to say from the bottom of my heart, thank you. I am very proud to have played for Western United. I have had the pleasure of being here for a long time, made many good friends and created many great memories. I look forward to the club’s bright future.”
