On July 24th, renowned journalist Fabrizio Romano reported that Bundesliga side RB Leipzig are now very confident of securing another loan deal for Xavi Simons.
The Dutch international is reportedly a target for several top clubs this summer, including Bayern Munich and Manchester United. The competition for his signature is still ongoing, but Romano says that Leipzig CEO Oliver Mintzlaff is also pushing hard to finalize a deal with Simons and is confident of convincing the player to join again.
Furthermore, Simons’ parent club Paris Saint-Germain have no intention of selling the player permanently, they only wish to loan him out again. In this scenario, Leipzig, who are also interested in a loan move, may have an advantage over Bayern Munich and Manchester United.
Last season, Xavi Simons played for Leipzig on loan and impressed with 10 goals and 13 assists.
