Former Dutch international Boëtius has a tumor removed after surgery and is expected to return to football

In March of this year, Dutch winger Boëtius announced on social media that his cancer had spread and he would be undergoing chemotherapy. In September 2022, Boëtius underwent treatment for testicular cancer. Due to the timely diagnosis, the cancer was in its early stages and he only needed surgery.

Recently, Boëtius announced to the public on the show De Oranjezomer that doctors had informed him that the surgery was successful and the tumor had been completely removed. “Now I’m finally clean,” Boëtius said.

Boëtius has played for Feyenoord, Basel, Genk, Mainz and Hertha Berlin, and is currently a free agent. He has represented the Netherlands in one World Cup qualifier. Now, at 30 years old, he hopes to find a new club as soon as possible and continue his career.
