Reports earlier suggested that Borussia Dortmund had reached an agreement with Lyon forward Rayan Cherki, but according to Bild, the deal is now off.
The report claims Dortmund are now prioritizing a right-back signing, with the club close to landing Brazilian defender Yan Couto, who was on loan at Girona from Manchester City last season. Given that the club has already spent €40 million on Stuttgart duo Anton and Gürleyen, it is highly unlikely that they would sign both Cherki and Couto.
The report also adds that Dortmund management are not 100% convinced Cherki is the right fit for the club. He scored just one goal in 33 appearances for Lyon last season, and his goal-scoring record was not particularly impressive.
