Kane: If I wasn’t a footballer, I’d probably play golf. Beckham was my idol

England star Harry Kane recently answered some questions from members of Bayern’s children’s club. Here are some of his answers:

“What would you do for a job if you weren’t a professional footballer?”

Kane: “Because I love golf so much, I’d probably play golf. But I also really like watching American football, following the NFL. That would be really cool too.”

“What trophies are you still aiming to win in your career? What are your goals for next season?”

Kane: “My dream is to win the Bundesliga and the Champions League with the team. I would love to win a major tournament with the national team. My goal this season is to win as many trophies as possible.”

“Where do you keep the ball after you score a hat-trick?”

Kane: “After scoring a hat-trick, I let my teammates sign the ball and then keep it at home on display. It’s a great reminder of that special feeling.”

“Which of your many goals is your favourite?”

Kane: “My favourite goal is the one I scored against Werder Bremen. It was my first goal for Bayern Munich. Philipp sent the pass, and I scored. It was my first game in the Bundesliga and it meant a lot to me.”

“Do you speak any German yet? What was the first German word you learned?”

Kane: “I have German lessons once or twice a week, and I want to learn the language as well as I can. The first German word I learned was ‘Servus’ (hello).”

“Which teammate are you closest to? Who do you sit next to?”

Kane: “I’ve made a lot of friends at Bayern Munich. I enjoy playing golf with Thomas (Müller). I’ve known Eric Dier since my time at Tottenham and we’re good friends. I sit next to him. I also really enjoy playing with Sane and Musiala. We have a good connection on and off the field. I sometimes play chess with Kimmich.”

“Who was your favourite player when you were a kid?”

Kane: “I loved England striker Teddy Sheringham. Later, players like David Beckham became my idols – I would do anything that Beckham did when I was a kid. Now I’m a role model for many kids, and I try to set a good example.”
