On July 9th, Borussia Dortmund officially announced the signing of Stuttgart defender Anton.
In an interview, Anton said: “I didn’t initially plan to change clubs, until the Dortmund hierarchy approached me. From the very beginning they gave me the feeling that they really wanted to sign me. Knowing that this is a team that reached the Champions League final last season speaks volumes about the club’s heritage and strength. I am looking forward to playing an important role here.”
