On July 31st, a transfer market graphic message circulating online claimed that Manchester United player Anthony was in talks with Shandong Taishan for a transfer. In response, Zhu Yi of Transfermarkt posted on social media, stating that the transfer market website was fabricating false information and violating forum rules.
Zhu Yi of Transfermarkt stated: “Regarding the ‘rumors’ section of the transfer market website, I have explained it in 2016 and pinned the explanation on my Weibo for years. I won’t elaborate further here. I also warn some users in China that fabricating baseless information in the ‘rumors’ section is a violation of forum rules. Please abide by the rules, participate in discussions rationally, and avoid undermining the website’s seriousness.”
Previously, Zhu Yi of Transfermarkt also clarified the “rumors section” of Transfermarkt: The news and rumor sections of the transfer market website are solely informational. If a player’s data hasn’t been updated, it doesn’t necessarily mean that the transfer market acknowledges the transfer as finalized. Therefore, when encountering unexpected screenshots from the transfer market website, please confirm whether it’s from the rumor page or the data page.
It is understood that the fabricated “rumor” has been deleted.
