On July 8, CONMEBOL announced the refereeing assignments for the Copa América semi-finals. Chilean referee Piero Maza will officiate the Argentina vs. Canada match.
Maza has previously officiated Argentina in two matches, both resulting in Argentina victories. This includes the 2023 CONMEBOL World Cup qualifier where Argentina won 1-0 against Brazil in an away game.
The other semi-final, Uruguay vs. Colombia, will be officiated by Mexican referee César Ramos. Both Uruguay and Colombia have previously played under Ramos’s officiating, with both teams emerging victorious.
