Dempsey said: “I’m speechless, it’s so disappointing. You have a team that’s behind you, you want to accomplish something, but since 2022, what have we done? We qualified for the World Cup, we got out of the group. Then did we make any progress? We haven’t, and that’s the most disappointing thing.”
“We have this golden generation right now, and it looks like we’re wasting them. 2026 is right around the corner, and we’re never going to have this opportunity again. We had the ‘94 generation, then we have this current batch, but you don’t know when you’re going to get a generation of players this good again.”
