West Ham United Have No Intention of Loaning Paquetá Back to Flamengo; Player Not Suspended

According to multiple sources, including The Athletic, Brazilian media and journalists, West Ham United have no intention of letting go of their midfielder Lucas Paquetá and will not accept a loan move back to his former club Flamengo.

Flamengo recently attempted to sign a loan deal with Paquetá, but West Ham were unwilling to negotiate and plan to keep the midfielder.

Paquetá has been under investigation by the FA for allegedly deliberately getting a yellow card to benefit nearly 60 people in a betting scheme. If the allegations are proven, the player could face a 10-year ban. However, Paquetá has denied all charges.

Paquetá is currently representing Brazil in the Copa América and is eager to return to his former club Flamengo while the FA case is being heard. Currently, the player has not been suspended and is still able to play for both his national team and club. After the Brazilian Football Confederation sought clarification from the FA on his eligibility, Paquetá was allowed to participate in this summer’s Copa América.
