July 2nd – According to reporters from *The Athletic*, Argentine star Lionel Messi has resumed full training with his teammates and participated in the full session on Monday. However, his availability for Argentina’s Copa America match against Ecuador on July 5th is still uncertain.
It is understood that Messi has missed six MLS matches this season due to a muscle injury and also sat out two friendlies, with both club and country continuing to manage his workload.
Argentina have a 100% win record in the Copa America thus far, having defeated Canada, Peru and Chile without conceding a goal. Messi has not scored in the first two matches, but has recorded one assist.
On July 5th at 9:00 AM local time, defending champions Argentina will face Ecuador in the Copa America quarter-final. The winner of the match will advance to the semi-finals.
