According to official announcements from Hokkaido Consadole Sapporo and Sagan Tosu, Sevilla’s Japan tour has been cancelled.
Both J-League clubs officially stated that due to the decision of the organizer MSN to cancel and postpone Sevilla FC’s “pre-season Japan tour” this summer, Hokkaido Consadole Sapporo and Sagan Tosu have accepted this decision. The two friendly matches originally scheduled for Tuesday, July 30th and Friday, August 2nd will be cancelled. Fans who have purchased tickets for both matches will be refunded.
According to previous reports from Japanese media, the reason for the cancellation of Sevilla’s Japan tour is the current relegation pressure faced by the two J-League teams. If the matches were to proceed, both teams would have to field reserve players or even youth team players.
