On August 8, J2 League club Yamagata Yamaga announced that it will build a professional stadium with a capacity of 15,000.
The announcement stated that the concept of the new stadium is “Connect Yamagata, Rediscover Yamagata.” The construction cost of the new stadium is approximately 15.8 billion yen (approximately 627 million yuan), and its specifications meet the requirements of J League stadium standards. The construction project is expected to begin in the fall of 2025 and be completed in the spring of 2028. The new stadium will be put into use in the summer of 2028.
Yamagata Yamaga’s performance in J2 this season has not been ideal. They have only won 8, drawn 6, and lost 11 in the first 25 rounds, accumulating 30 points and currently ranking 13th in the league table.
