According to Japanese media outlet Sports Hochi, Japan national team manager Hajime Moriyasu said in a recent interview that he is considering recalling Junya Ito to the national team.
Junya Ito was involved in a scandal during the Asian Cup in Qatar in January and was removed from the Japanese Asian Cup squad. He has not been called up to the national team since. However, according to recent media reports, he has been cleared of any wrongdoing, and Moriyasu is considering recalling him to the Japanese national team.
Moriyasu said in a recent interview: “If I can confirm various situations in the future, I will call up (Junya Ito). He performed well in Reims’ Japan tour, so I hope he can return to the national team.”
In the current World Cup Asian Qualifiers, Japan is in Group C and will face China at home in the first round on September 5th.
