August 23 – According to a recent report from Portuguese media outlet Zerozero, J-League team Hiroshima Sanfrecce are interested in signing 30-year-old former Portuguese international forward Gonçalo Paciencia, who recently left La Liga club Celta Vigo on a free transfer this summer.
Currently, Hiroshima Sanfrecce are in second place in the J-League, only four points behind leaders Machida Zelvia. However, striker Yuki Ohashi moved to English Championship club Blackburn during the summer transfer window, so they are still looking to bolster their attack to challenge for the title.
This forward, who emerged from Porto’s youth system, has played for Olympiacos, Frankfurt, Schalke 04, Celta Vigo, and Bochum, among other European clubs. He has been called up to various Portuguese national teams, scoring three goals for the Portugal Olympic team at the 2016 Rio Olympics. However, he has only made two appearances for the senior national team, scoring one goal and providing one assist. Currently, his market value is €1.5 million.
