J2 League Yamagata Yamaga Club officially announced that the team has officially signed Gunma Grasshopper defender Jōji Hayasaka.
The 25-year-old Hayasaka came from Kashiwa Reysol’s youth team, joining Gunma Grasshopper in 2021. He has made 99 appearances for the team in all competitions and is also the current captain.
Currently, on the J2 League table, Gunma Grasshopper has 13 points, ranking bottom, 13 points behind the safe zone. Letting go of the captain at this time also means that the team has basically given up struggling and accepted the reality of relegation at the end of the season.
