J2 League club Ventforet Kofu has officially announced that manager Yoshinobu Shinoda has been sacked, with Shinji Otsuka becoming the team’s new manager.
The 53-year-old Shinoda took over Ventforet Kofu in February 2023, leading the team for a total of 77 matches, with a record of 30 wins, 18 draws, and 29 losses. In the past eight league rounds, Ventforet Kofu has only managed four draws and four losses, failing to win a single match. After a goalless draw against Oita Trinita in the last round, the team ultimately decided to change managers.
Shinoda’s successor will be Shinji Otsuka, who joined Ventforet Kofu in 2022 as a first-team coach.
Currently, Ventforet Kofu sits in 14th place on the J2 League standings with 25 points. In the next round of league matches, the team will host Tokushima Vortis at home.
