J.League club Sapporo Consadole have officially announced the signing of Spanish forward Jordi Sanchez.
The 29-year-old Sanchez came through the ranks at Barcelona, before going on to play for a number of Spanish lower league clubs. Over the past two seasons, he has played for Polish Ekstraklasa side Widzew Łódź, scoring 8 goals and providing 5 assists in 31 appearances last season. His contract expired at the end of the season, making him a free agent.
Currently bottom of the J.League table with just 11 points, Sapporo Consadole are 12 points behind the safety zone. The club hopes that Sanchez’s arrival will effectively strengthen their attack and help them to achieve their goal of staying in the league.
