FC Tokyo Official: Koki Matsuoka Leaves Team to Pursue Overseas Career

On July 13th, FC Tokyo officially announced that Koki Matsuoka will be leaving the team to pursue an overseas career.

The announcement reads:

Koki Matsuoka has decided to leave the team after today’s activities to prepare for his transfer to an overseas club. We will notify you again once the official decision is made.

Matsuoka, 21, joined FC Tokyo’s first team in 2022. He has played 19 games for the team this season, scoring 3 goals and providing 4 assists. This year, Matsuoka won the AFC U23 Championship with the Japan U23 team, but was not selected for the Japan Olympic team that will compete in the Paris Olympics.
