Sport: Roque reluctant to return to Brazil, wants to continue in LaLiga

Catalan media outlet Sport reports that despite Barcelona considering Vitor Roque as one of the players who could leave the club, the player’s preference to stay in LaLiga adds a variable to how his departure might be orchestrated.

The report points out that Barcelona’s technical staff believes the best option for Roque is to find a team where he can play regularly and accelerate his growth through a transfer. In the last six months, Roque has had limited playing time at Barcelona, but there are still several teams interested in him in the transfer market.

For example, Porto, although their offer for Roque was not satisfactory for Barcelona. Saudi Pro League side Al-Hilal have also been long-time admirers of Roque. The latest team to express interest in Roque is Corinthians from the Brazilian league. However, Roque’s agent, Andre Cury, has ruled out the possibility of the player returning to Brazil. Cury was initially against the idea of loaning out the player, but he has acknowledged that this is currently the best option.

Roque’s ultimate goal is to succeed at Barcelona. Therefore, if he were to leave temporarily, he wants to join a European team to gain playing experience. His preferred choice would be LaLiga, a notion that Barcelona understands and supports. Sport states that Sevilla has been proposed as a potential destination, with En-Nesyri set to sign with Fenerbahçe, Sevilla are looking for a replacement for the Moroccan, and Roque is a player they are convinced about.

A potential issue is the currently strained relationship between Barcelona and Sevilla. However, anything can happen in the transfer market. Overall, Barcelona are optimistic that Roque will find a team in LaLiga to get playing time.
