According to Marca, Barcelona coach Xavi gave his players a day off on Sunday, and they will resume preparations for the 24/25 season at the Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper on Monday. In the next training session, two national team players are expected to join: Lewandowski and Christensen.
Recently, Lewandowski showcased his intense training routines on social media, some of which he undertook alongside his wife. His strength training, cardio, endurance training, heart training, combined with his carefully crafted diet, have helped him maintain excellent physical condition at the age of 35, and he will continue to lead the line for Barcelona in the new season.
In the 23/24 season, Lewandowski scored 26 goals in 49 appearances for Barcelona across all competitions. In this year’s European Championship, he played two matches for Poland against Austria and France, scoring one goal.
Danish center-back Christensen is also expected to join Barcelona’s training on Monday, which will be held only in the morning. The players who will join the training later are Ter Stegen and Gundogan, who will directly join the US tour starting on July 28th. Raphinha, Koundé, Lamine Yamal, and Ferran Torres will join later, possibly directly in the US.
However, there are still nine players who might miss the US tour. Fermín, Eric Garcia, and Kuba Albá will participate in the Paris Olympics, so they won’t be on Xavi’s available list. Additionally, there are several injured players in Barcelona’s squad, including Araujo (who will undergo surgery in Finland), Gavi, Pablo Torre, Pedri, Frenkie de Jong, and Balde. Of course, some of them might recover well enough to join the team in the US.
