According to AS, Laporte wants to join Real Madrid, but Al-Nassr will not let him go for free.
It is understood that Laporte is willing to give up the remaining two years of his contract at Al-Nassr, worth €48 million, in order to join Real Madrid. He made 39 appearances and scored four goals in his first season at the club.
However, Al-Nassr are reluctant to let Laporte go easily, as they paid €27 million to sign him from Manchester City last year. Real Madrid are unwilling to pay any fee for the Spanish international, and only want him to join the team on a free transfer.
Last season, Real Madrid struggled with a lack of centre-backs, with Eduardo Camavinga even forced to play as a centre-back at times. If they stay fit, Antonio Rüdiger, Éder Militão and David Alaba are all starters at centre-back, and with Nacho Fernández gone, Jesús Vallejo will be the backup centre-back.
