Aston Villa Pulls Out of Felix and Raphinha Deals Due to High Asking Price

On July 24, according to Mundo Deportivo, Aston Villa has abandoned their pursuit of Atlético Madrid’s João Félix and Barcelona’s Raphinha due to the high asking prices set by their respective clubs.

Reportedly, both players have been tagged with a €70 million price tag. While Villa initially expressed interest, the high valuation deterred them from pursuing the signings.

In the 2023-24 season, Félix was loaned to Barcelona, where he featured in 44 matches, contributing 10 goals and 6 assists. His performance did not convince Barcelona to pursue a permanent deal, and he will return to Atlético Madrid at the end of the season. Atlético is reportedly seeking €60-70 million for Félix and is open to selling 50% of his ownership rights, which could facilitate a return to the Portuguese league.

In the 2023-24 season, Raphinha made 37 appearances for Barcelona, registering 10 goals and 13 assists. Barcelona is considering selling Raphinha, but having spent €55 million to sign him, they are aiming for a €70 million fee to guarantee their financial interests.
