According to Real Madrid correspondent Jose Felix Diaz, Real Madrid will wait for Alaba’s response until the end of August before deciding whether to sign a new center-back.
It is understood that if the dialogue yields positive results and Alaba is determined to return in October or November this year, Real Madrid will not sign a new center-back.
Since the summer transfer window opened, Real Madrid’s first-team official signings have been only Endrick, who has been signed long ago, and Mbappe, who has joined on a free transfer. Vallejo, who has returned from loan, will stay temporarily, while another center-back, Marin, has transferred to Napoli.
Including Alaba, Real Madrid currently only have four dedicated center-backs: Militao, Rudiger, Alaba, and Vallejo.
