TA: Barca considering selling star players to fund a big-name signing this summer

According to TA, Barcelona have placed eight players on the transfer list to raise funds for a big-name signing this summer.

Barcelona are still facing serious financial difficulties and cannot spend money at will. Barca are still racking their brains to find ways to comply with La Liga regulations as they still have outstanding debts.

Barcelona are eager to strengthen their squad this summer to compete with Real Madrid. They have been closely monitoring Nico Williams and Dani Olmo, two heroes of Spain’s 2024 European Championship win.

However, Barcelona need to sell players to get the funds to complete their transfer targets. According to TA, a total of eight players have been placed on the “transfer list.”

Two high-earning players, Frenkie de Jong and Araujo, are on the list. But both are carrying injuries and it is currently difficult to sell them to other clubs. Raphinha is unwilling to leave Barca, while his Brazilian compatriot Roque is willing to move.

With too many players in the center-back position, Lenglet and Mikael Faye could both be sold. Lenglet was loaned to Aston Villa last season and looks easier to sell, while Faye has not attracted much attention yet.

Ferran Torres, who joined from Manchester City for €55 million, is also on the sale list. Despite being a versatile player who scores goals, he has not been given much trust.

The last player to appear on the “transfer list” is midfielder Romeu, who at 32 years old has seen a significant decline in form and often found himself on the bench last season.
