Former Real Madrid youth player arrested

According to Spanish newspaper AS, Tenerife B goalkeeper Moha Ramos was arrested by the Civil Guard on Saturday in Lanzarote for outstanding judicial demands since 2023. The club said they would cooperate with the authorities’ investigation.

The arrest reportedly occurred before a friendly match for Tenerife B, which was to be played at the Montaña La Cinta Municipal Stadium in Yaiza.

The former Real Madrid youth player will remain in custody until Monday, when he will be handed over to the judiciary. The exact nature of the judicial demands is unclear. Media reports suggest that the club is concerned but believes they can salvage the promising goalkeeper, who is working to redeem himself.

Hours later, the club issued a statement saying they “will fully cooperate with the competent authorities to clarify the facts and assign responsibilities”.

Moha Ramos rose to prominence after joining Real Madrid. The goalkeeper, hailed as a jewel of the Real Madrid academy, was included in the Real Madrid first team at the tender age of 17. With Navas and Luca Zidane injured, Zidane included him in the squad for the game against Eibar. He was on the bench as a substitute for Kiko Casilla and almost made his Real Madrid debut in that match.

He later returned to the Real Madrid B team and played several games. In 2019, Moha Ramos moved to Birmingham, where he spent a year. He then played for Real Unión de Irun, Rayo Cantabria, Avilés and Las Palmas before finally returning to Tenerife B.
