Argentine media outlet El Grafico reports that Argentina World Cup winner Pezzella is about to return to his former club, River Plate.
According to reports, River Plate will pay a €4 million release clause to bring the 33-year-old defender back to the team. The two sides will sign a contract until December 2027. Pezzella will be the first 2022 World Cup winner to return from abroad.
Although River Plate has not yet made an official announcement, Pezzella himself has hinted at the move on his social media. The official announcement is expected to be released soon.
