According to the latest report from Bild, Atlético Madrid is interested in Leon Goretzka, but it is not clear whether the German would be willing to move to Spain.
Previously, Süddeutsche Zeitung revealed that Goretzka had attracted interest from both Atlético Madrid and Napoli, with the player having two years left on his contract with Bayern. Now Bild confirms that Atlético Madrid is indeed considering the 29-year-old German midfielder, but the player himself seems to prefer staying at Bayern.
Goretzka had a poor season last year, to the point where he was not taken to the European Championship by Nagelsmann. In the pre-season match against regional side Düren, Goretzka started and played for an hour before being substituted. Even against a regional team, Goretzka’s performance was abysmal, with many fans directly calling for him to leave.
