Spanish media outlet Relevo reports that Valladolid president Ronaldo, nicknamed “The Alien,” has decided not to sell the club in the short term. He will pay off the club’s debts himself.
Previously, multiple media outlets reported that despite being promoted to La Liga, Valladolid president Ronaldo was seeking to sell the club. Recently, the Valladolid club spokesperson stated unequivocally in a press conference that the club will not be sold.
Club spokesperson Jorge Santiago said: “The club president has indeed received several offers, but these offers must be beneficial to him or to the club. He has decided to continue betting on the club, and this is clear and certain. Moreover, Ronaldo has decided to pay off the club’s outstanding debts out of his own pocket, which will help us increase the club’s wage cap.”
Furthermore, at the press conference, the club also updated the composition of the board of directors. David Espina, director of the club president’s office and institutional spokesperson, will join R9, Ronaldo’s personal brand, in expanding into the Middle Eastern market.
