Sky Sports reporter Lyle Thomas is reporting that Atletico Madrid are set to abandon their pursuit of Conor Gallagher after failing to receive a response from the player.
It is understood that Atletico are now prepared to walk away from a deal for the Chelsea midfielder and focus on a move for Valencia’s Javier Guerra instead.
Gallagher has been considering his options since Atletico agreed a £34m deal with Chelsea last week. The England international is yet to give Atletico an answer on whether he is willing to join them. As a result, Atletico are running out of patience and will now push ahead with a move for Guerra.
Relevo journalist Matteo Moretto also stated that Gallagher’s move to Atletico is now unlikely, with a move for Guerra now at 99%.
