Recently, Giroud gave an exclusive interview to MLS. In his words, he hinted that his national teammate Griezmann was envious after seeing him sign for Los Angeles. He believes that Griezmann will one day play in MLS.
French striker Giroud left AC Milan this summer to join MLS side LAFC, signing a contract until the end of 2025. In an interview with MLS TV, he admitted that Griezmann was very interested in MLS.
He said: “When he saw the news of me signing with LAFC, he was a little envious. I told him to be patient, I hope we can meet here soon.”
“I don’t know if we’ll be on opposite sides in the future, but when I saw the news of him being linked with LAFC, I texted him directly: I know you like America, you like the basketball, baseball and football here. One day you’ll be here too.”
Griezmann, now 33, is under contract with Atletico Madrid until the summer of 2026. Media speculation suggests that if he is unable to maintain his form, he may choose to part ways with Atletico next summer.
