According to Spanish radio station Cadena SER, Barcelona is set to announce that American company Aramark will assume 40 million euros in club debt.
Aramark, currently a sponsor and supplier to Barcelona, plans to take on the 40 million euros owed to German investment company Libero Football Finance AG. In exchange, they will receive a 10% stake in Bridgeburg Invest, which owns the Barça Vision trademark. The contract was signed yesterday at noon. The club is expected to officially announce the news today.
The deal will immediately generate a 40 million euro cash flow for Barcelona, which will be reflected in the financial statements up to December 31, 2023. This will ensure that the club does not end the 2023/24 fiscal year with a loss, and Barcelona does not want to delay this matter.
The partnership with Aramark is a key move to help Barcelona comply with the 1:1 rule, which will allow the club to register new players, such as Dani Olmo.
