Real Oviedo has officially announced that the club has extended its contract with veteran midfielder Santi Cazorla for one more year.
The 39-year-old Cazorla returned to his boyhood club Real Oviedo last summer after leaving Qatari club Al-Sadd. He made 25 appearances for the club last season, starting 10 times and registering four assists.
Real Oviedo finished sixth in the Segunda División this season and lost the promotion play-off final 1-2 on aggregate against Espanyol, missing out on promotion to La Liga. Cazorla hopes to stay at the club and help them return to the top flight after many years.
