According to Spanish media outlet Mundo Deportivo, the 24/25 La Liga season is about to officially begin. The refereeing committee recently convened coaches from La Liga and La Liga 2 teams for an online meeting to explain the details of the various rules that will be implemented in the new season.
The content of the meeting was very comprehensive. The Spanish Technical Committee of Referees (CTA) provided a detailed explanation of the various rules for the new season, including the semi-automatic offside system, communication between players and referees on the field, communication between head coaches and the fourth official, and more.
In addition, the referees also explained the criteria for judging situations such as handball, foul tackles, and more. They also made changes to the rule regarding players entering the box early during penalty kicks: Now, the referee will only order a retake of the penalty if the player entering early has a substantial impact on the play.
According to reports, most of the head coaches, including Barcelona manager Flick, attended the meeting. Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti, however, was absent due to preparations for the UEFA Super Cup, which was taking place at the same time.
Additionally, the Spanish Football Federation will organize an offline meeting on September 3rd during the international break. Head coaches from all teams will be able to attend.
