According to AS, Barcelona are hoping to sign former Real Madrid defender Sergio Reguilón. The left-back is contracted to Tottenham Hotspur and is currently not in the Premier League club’s plans. With just a year remaining on his current deal, Spurs would prefer to sell the 27-year-old now to avoid losing him on a free transfer next summer.
Alejandro Balde is currently the only recognised left-back in Barcelona’s first team and new head coach Hansi Flick is looking for reinforcements in this position. The Catalan giants have already been in talks with Manchester City over a permanent move for João Cancelo, but negotiations are currently at a standstill.
Barça are looking for an experienced player in the left-back position. They see Reguilón as a suitable option if the price is right.
