Real Madrid will still pay Chelsea millions of pounds after winning the UEFA Super Cup despite Hazard’s contract expiring next year

August 15th Real Madrid beat Atlanta 2-0 in the UEFA Super Cup final early this morning to win their sixth Super Cup trophy, but unbeknownst to many, a club in London, England was also celebrating their victory.

According to previous revelations about the transfer clauses for Eden Hazard, Chelsea will receive €100 million in fixed transfer fees from Real Madrid and a total of over £42 million in floating clauses. These clauses will be triggered based on Hazard’s performance or achievements at Real Madrid, thus increasing the total transfer fee, which could exceed £150 million at most.

Although Hazard announced his retirement in 2023, his contract with the club expires in 2025, so Chelsea will still receive around £5 million due to the transfer floating clauses.
