Spain national team captain Alvaro Morata has announced on social media that he has divorced his wife Alice Campello. The couple, who have four children together, married in 2017 and have always presented a united front.
Morata wrote: “This was a painful decision, and I hope everyone will show basic respect and empathy. Please do not spread rumors, we have always respected each other, but misunderstandings have eroded our love. Alice will always hold a special place in my heart, and everything we experienced together was incredible.”
The announcement came as a surprise, as Morata and Campello were seen kissing passionately on the pitch after Spain won the European Championship.
