New York Times: Saudi Pro League Club Approached Vinicius Jr. with Offer, But Was Rejected

August 12th, according to the New York Times, a Saudi Pro League club offered Vinicius Jr. a massive salary in hopes of luring him to the league, but the Brazilian international refused the offer.

It is reported that a representative of the Public Investment Fund, a body representing Saudi sports ministry, had contacted Vinicius, hoping that he could be the league’s poster boy in preparation for the 2034 World Cup in Saudi Arabia. The representative also hoped that Vinicius would move to the Saudi Pro League to continue his professional career.

Real Madrid is unwilling to sell Vinicius. His release clause is €1 billion, and his contract with the team expires in 2027. Vinicius is also unwilling to leave Real Madrid, as he is currently very happy at the club. Last season, he appeared in 39 matches for Real Madrid, scoring 24 goals and providing 11 assists. He helped the team win both the La Liga title and the Champions League title. He is also hoping to win the Ballon d’Or.

In the new season, Real Madrid will be competing on multiple fronts in La Liga, the Champions League, the Copa del Rey, the Club World Cup, the Intercontinental Cup, the Spanish Super Cup, and the UEFA Super Cup. They will still need Vinicius’s strong support.
