Barcelona Are Working Hard to Activate Two Levers to Get the €10 Million Needed to Register Players and Sign New Ones

According to Spanish newspaper Marca, Joan Laporta is preparing to pull out two big guns in the final stretch of the transfer window. Barcelona are working hard in the final days before the transfer window closes to register Nico Williams and sign a second important player. The arrival of Ilkay Gündogan at Manchester City has saved the club up to €15 million in annual salary, creating some space in the salary cap, but this is not enough.

The club is doing everything possible to push through two “lever” plans to get more funds and meet La Liga’s financial fair play regulations. The first is the remaining €20 million from the second payment from the sale of a part of Barca Vision. The club has previously announced an agreement with Aramark, which paid €40 million as a first payment, but €20 million remains outstanding.

Bridgeburg Investment is ready to pay this amount. The club is preparing all the necessary documents to submit to La Liga for approval and to lift the financial restrictions imposed by the €20 million, which are currently hindering the club’s ability to sign and register new players. Barcelona is confident they will get the approval before the transfer window closes.

The second plan is more complex and involves a new partnership between Barcelona and Nike. The club is working day and night to complete all the procedures and get La Liga’s approval before the transfer window closes. If successful, this would be a big breakthrough, as the deal would bring around €40 million in “financial fair play” funds and bring the club back to a 1:1 financial rule. However, compared to the previous agreement, the club is not so optimistic.

If these two sponsorship agreements are reached, the club will be able to make important signings, such as Nico Williams and Federico Chiesa. But first, these agreements must be completed and approved by La Liga.

In addition to the club’s sponsorship negotiations, Deco is also working hard to sell some players to get “financial fair play” funds. Currently, Clément Lenglet is one of the players most likely to leave. The French player has a high salary, but no departure agreement has yet been reached.
