AS: Fati excels in first strength test, player is in good shape

July 5 – According to Spanish outlet AS, Barcelona forward Ansu Fati has excelled in the team’s first strength tests during their pre-season preparation. Barça’s new fitness coach Julio Tous has stated that the player is in good shape and ready to compete.

The outlet claims that the young forward took the opportunity to meet with sporting director Deco last week, directly learning about the club’s plans for him. The sporting director’s stance towards the player was clear and transparent: Hansi Flick is willing to give him a chance in pre-season, and whether he convinces the German coach depends on Fati’s performance.

Fati doesn’t want to waste time, and on Tuesday he took the first step towards convincing Flick. The young forward underwent strength tests under the supervision of new fitness coach Julio Tous. According to AS, Ansu performed brilliantly in this test and achieved a high score. The player is in good physical condition and ready to compete, which is a prerequisite for staying at Barcelona.

At 21 years old, Ansu Fati was loaned to Premier League side Brighton last season, where he made 19 appearances, starting only three times and scoring two goals. His current market value is around €25 million. He was previously the owner of Barcelona’s No. 10 jersey, but after suffering a major knee injury, the player’s performance has been far from expectations.
