July 6 – According to an official announcement released by La Liga side Mallorca, Japanese international forward Takuma Asano has joined the club on a free transfer. The two parties have signed a two-year deal.
The 29-year-old Asano played for Bundesliga club Bochum last season, but after the team was relegated, he left on a free transfer. The player currently has a market value of €4 million.
In 2022, Asano represented Japan at the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar. In January 2024, he was selected to represent the Japanese national team at the 2023 AFC Asian Cup. He has made 52 appearances for the Japan national team, scoring 9 goals and providing 4 assists.
