K League 2 club Seongnam FC has officially announced that it has terminated its contract with head coach Choi Cheol-woo due to health reasons.
In an official statement, Seongnam FC said that Choi Cheol-woo recently expressed that he would be unable to lead the team due to health concerns. The club respects his decision and, after mutual agreement, terminated the contract.
Choi Cheol-woo officially took over Seongnam FC in May this year, leading the team in 20 league matches, achieving 5 wins, 4 draws, and 11 losses, while also helping the team reach the round of eight in the Korean FA Cup.
Currently, Seongnam FC sits in 12th place on the K League 2 table with 20 points. The team has gone winless in the last 7 rounds, and in the next round, they will face Chungbuk Cheongju away.
