Chung Mong-gyu, president of the Korea Football Association, recently published his autobiography, which includes many self-defense and self-praise remarks. Korean media Sportal Korea excerpted some of his remarks and titled it “Embarrassing bragging.”
Chung Mong-gyu said frankly in his autobiography: “There are many owners of big clubs, such as Real Madrid president Perez Florentino. If you give these people 100 points, I can only get 40-50 points. I cannot invest any professional knowledge or vision to operate the club.”
Chung Mong-gyu is very satisfied with his management in the K League: “I can say I am the best owner in the K League. My business friends have enough financial resources, which is not easy to achieve.”
Sportal Korea commented: In fact, Busan, one of the big clubs representing the K League, has not lifted a major trophy since the end of the 2004 season, and has been struggling in the K2 for four years after being relegated in 2017.
