The latest report revealed that the Algerian international was diagnosed with heart disease, and he is contemplating retirement. However, despite the successful surgery, the French Football Federation advised Bentaleb to consider retirement due to the incident.

Bentaleb came up through Lille’s youth academy, joining Tottenham Hotspur’s youth team in 2012. In 2017, he signed for Schalke 04. He returned to his former club last summer. Additionally, he has made 66 appearances for the Algerian national team.
