Reports suggest that Paris Saint-Germain are considering terminating Skriniar’s contract, but the Slovakian centre-back is not willing to leave.
The 29-year-old Skriniar joined Paris Saint-Germain on a free transfer last summer, with his contract running until June 2028. Skriniar has publicly expressed his desire to stay, indicating that he does not want to leave unless the club pays him a substantial compensation package.
Considering that Skriniar has four years left on his contract with the club and is one of the highest earners, it won’t be easy for Paris Saint-Germain to offload him. Therefore, this tug-of-war could be a long one.
Apart from Skriniar, Paris Saint-Germain also wants to offload Fabián Ruiz, despite the Spanish midfielder’s impressive performance at the European Championship.
In terms of transfers, Paris Saint-Germain has already completed the signing of Russian goalkeeper Matvei Safonov. Other transfer targets include Dean Huyssen (Juventus), Gertruda (Feyenoord) and Amadou Onana (Everton).
