According to L’Équipe, De Zerbi is looking to reshape Marseille’s attack and has given the club the green light to try and sign Wolves forward Hwang Hee-Chan.
Marseille have already sold Vitinha and Ndiaye for €34 million, making it essential to bring in fresh blood for the attack.
It is understood that Marseille believe the team was overly reliant on the 35-year-old Aubameyang last season and need other attacking players to share the goalscoring burden. After an assessment, the club has identified Hwang Hee-Chan as a key candidate, and De Zerbi was a big admirer of the South Korean’s playing style during his time at Brighton.
L’Équipe states that Marseille have not yet started negotiations with Wolves. Given that Hwang Hee-Chan’s contract runs until the summer of 2028, Marseille will likely have to pay a significant transfer fee.
