July 13, according to multiple sources including French publication L’Équipe and transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Georgia striker Georges Mikautadze, who plays for Metz, has completed his transfer to Monaco and the move will be announced shortly.
Mikautadze impressed at the recent Euro 2024 tournament, scoring 3 goals for Georgia. Although his team was eliminated in the round of 16 by Spain, he is still joint-top scorer in the competition. His performance attracted attention from other European clubs, with West Ham United having inquired about his situation.
According to multiple reports, Monaco will be Mikautadze’s next destination. The player has reached an agreement with Monaco on personal terms. Romano revealed that Metz are willing to accept a bid of around €20m for the Georgian forward. L’Équipe’s sources, however, claim that Monaco’s offer for Mikautadze is around €25m.
Monaco CEO Thiago Scuro confirmed in an interview with Get French Football News that positive talks with Metz are ongoing. He said: “We expect to find a way to meet Metz’s expectations regarding the transfer fee.”
