On August 4th, French star Olivier Giroud, who plays for Los Angeles FC in Major League Soccer, recently revealed in an interview with the media that Zlatan Ibrahimovic told him he would like it here because MLS is a striker’s league.
Giroud said: “He told me I would love this league, it’s a striker’s league, they don’t play to hold onto results or defend. MLS matches are about scoring goals and bringing joy to passionate fans.”
At the same time, Giroud also expressed his confidence in MLS: “I can bring my experience, my professionalism, my goals to the team, and of course all the advice I can give. I will give my all for my team. It’s a different league from the top five European leagues that have improved a lot in recent years. I have to adapt, but I’ll contribute here.”
Giroud has played in top professional leagues like Ligue 1, the Premier League and Serie A for 18 years, including the past four seasons with AC Milan, scoring 285 goals in 716 club appearances.
