Miami International Executive: Considers a Friendly Match Against Barcelona, Messi Could Return to Camp Nou

According to Spanish newspaper “Mundo Deportivo”, Miami International Club’s Director of Sports Operations, Asensi, has stated that a friendly match between the team and Barcelona at the new Camp Nou is not ruled out. This would be a chance for Messi to return to the stadium.

Asensi said: “A long time ago, the club considered a friendly match against Barcelona during the preseason. But we were preparing for the league cup at that time, and we didn’t have time to think about friendly matches. Whether it’s December this year or January next year, I don’t know what time is better. If you want to see Messi return to the new Camp Nou and receive the adoration of the fans, it depends on the right time. We will discuss this.”

Currently, the reconstruction of the new Camp Nou is in full swing. According to the plan, the new stadium is expected to be put into use in November this year, more precisely on November 19th, the 125th anniversary of FC Barcelona. If the two sides actually arrange a friendly match as scheduled, considering that Barcelona owed Messi a decent farewell, this may be a great opportunity to make up for the regret of both sides.
